AREMD is an independent association in partnership with organizations in both Cameroon and Nigeria comprising of about 690 Rural Communities and local government area councils and municipal districts. Since 2001, we have helped rural municipalities achieve strong, effective, local governance management and development.

We provides Research, Training-advocacy and business services which including municipal administrators training and empowerment education Programs, environmental education management programs, environmental pollution and waste management education programs, Poverty alleviation Education Programs– Local agricultural Farm Products Trade ,AREMD Energy, alternative energy education , and lastly Healthcare hygiene and Sanitation programs).

The people behind our organization are crucial to its success as well.

Our Objectives

To introduce educational programs and community projects aimed at increasing awareness of the three pillars of development namely, the natural environment, society and economic sector and the role they play in sustainable development.
To ensure holistic community participation to improve the environmental well-being of such communities as a poverty reduction mechanism.

To promote the planting of indigenous trees throughout the country by 2050
To facilitate participation of the underprivileged members of the society irrespective of gender to improve their well-being and reduce the dependency syndrome and ratio accordingly.
